Your care at home questions answered
How flexible are you with time?
We offer everything from short 30-minute visits to longer sits, waking nights and sleep-ins, and we shape the timing around your routine rather than the other way round.
Can you provide emergency or short-notice care?
Where we have care staff available, we’ll always do our best to arrange care at short notice. The sooner you call us, the sooner we can help find the right fit.
What can carers at home help with?
Our care staff support with personal care, meal prep, medication, light housekeeping, appointments and companionship. There are some clinical tasks they can’t carry out, and we’ll always be clear from the start about what’s included.
Can I choose to have a male or female care assistant?
Of course. Feeling comfortable with your care staff matters, so we’ll always do our best to match you with someone you feel at ease with, including whether you’d prefer a male or female carer.
Can you help with medicines and simple health tasks?
Yes. Our trained care staff can prompt or administer medication and support with simple health-related tasks, all set out clearly in your care plan.
How is my personal care plan agreed and reviewed?
It starts with a care assessment, where we learn your needs and preferences. From there we build a personalised plan together, and review it regularly to make sure it still fits.
Can family be involved in planning my care?
Absolutely. We work with families every day and welcome your involvement at every stage, from the first assessment to ongoing reviews.
What happens if my needs change?
Your care changes with you. We review your plan regularly and adjust it whenever your needs shift, so the support always fits where you are.
Do you offer private care at home?
Yes. Alongside the care we provide for East Riding of Yorkshire Council and North Yorkshire Council, families can arrange private care at home with us directly, without waiting for a council assessment. Just get in touch and we’ll talk you through it.
How much does care at home cost?
Our care at home starts from £27.24 an hour. The total depends on how long each visit is and how often you need us, from short 30–45 minute visits to long sits and waking nights. We’ll give you a clear cost after your care assessment.
